Services: I am a fully qualified professional counsellor based in Nottingham. I hold professionally recognised and accredited qualifications and I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). As such, I work within the BACP 'Ethical Framework for Good Practice' www.bacp.co.uk).
Training: I hold both a Postgraduate Certifcate and Diploma in Integrative Counselling Practice. These are BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) accredited courses. In addition, I have completed a variety of relevant independent training courses and, continue to do so for my ongoing professional development.
How I work: I work in an Integrative way: I primarily utilize three main theoretical approaches to counselling, Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) and Attachment. Essentially, this means that I try to match the style and content of counselling to the needs of my clients. The most important consideration in this process is, how effective it proves to be for each individual client.
Experiece: I have worked with a wide range of clients and difficulties for several years. Some examples of the kinds of things I work with include: Anger, Personal Growth, Abuse, Eating Disorders, Self-esteem, Stress, Bereavement, Relationship and family difficulties, Depression and Anxiety, Loss and Change. There are of course other areas with which I can work. We will determine in our first session, whether it seems likely that I will be able to help you.
